Reindeer Cookies

Today I headed downtown to get some fresh air instead of being stuck at home on my day off. I stopped by this little boutique call Dog Savvy. It's so nice to see a small local dog shop because they have a so many cute clothing, Go-green pet products and cookies. Speaking about cookies, I ended up picking up these Reindeer Cookies for my pups.

Mommy, can I please have my cookie already?
Don't you just love the holidays?

Hug-A-Dog

Dachshund Delights is one of my favorite places to shop for custom items for my little boy Lyle. We already have two items from this shop which we love very much. The first item is the Hug-A-Dog Harness in mesh. When I first got Lyle, I got him a harness from my local pet shop but the harnesses were just too big. I forgot how I stumbled upon Dachshund Delights but I'm so glad I did. I went online and did a bunch of research on it and watched youtube videos. It seems like the people who bought there products really liked it so I ordered my pup one of these harnesses and it fits like a glove The thing that I love about it is that it is breathable on hot days with the mesh and Lyle seems to be really comfortable in it. You give them your pups measurements and viola - a great quality harness is made for ya.

For the past week, it has been really cold in Colorado and it has been snowing (just a tid-bit). So I decided to order another item from Dachshund Delights. This time I ended up choosing the Hug-A-Dog Cuddler (Water resistant).  The reason I ordered the water resistant cuddler is specifically for rain and snow. I don't know about your doxie but I know that Mister Lyle does not like to be wet and he gets pretty cold when it's snowing.  I ended up choosing a blue coat with a mint anti-pill polar fleece (yes you get to choose your own colors and yes I chose the same one that is pictured on the website!) The fit is perfect and the quality again, is great.
 What a handsome lil fello.

(Note: I was not paid to write a review or promote Dachshund Delights)

Cold feeties.

Another snowy day in Colorado. Don't get me wrong, snow is beautiful but can we please enjoy the fall? I took like for a walk today and all of a sudden he stopped. I turned around and he seem frozen in place but as he began to walk again, he wasn't putting any pressure on his left hind leg. I panicked and checked his foot and he squealed. Did he break it?! No he didn't. Thank goodness. I think his foot might have just gotten really cold and it just began to hurt. Poor buddy. Does your doxie have any issues walking in the snow? I do have this product call Mushers secret but I forgot to put some on his little feeties. When I took him out on another walk, I did put some Mushers on his feet but after the frozen foot incident, he didn't walk in the snow at all. Has anyone ever used Mushers on their dogs in the winter time and if so, does it work? All in all, Lyle did like to play in the snow.

Happy Dachtober.

Fall is finally here in Colorado, (minus today which is 81 degrees) but it's here and you know what that means?! Pumpkin season: time to make some pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, pumpkin pancakes, and even pumpkin treats for the pups. I don't think I'll have any time to go pumpkin picking but if I did I'd pick up this little fello. What are your October plans? Any pumpkin recipe ideas? If you have any doggie treat recipes, I would love to hear it.

I've been looking for a new collar for Lyle and found the perfect one for him. Isn't it cute. Thank you Pepo & Lola for making such cute accessories.
What a fashionista.

Labour Day Hike: Red Rocks

Red Rocks is another trail I usually hike because it's fairly easy and it's great for trail running. Today the boys and I headed out to Red Rocks for a short hike.

Finally got to sit down and rest.

Lookout mountain, Lyle's coming!

Happy Labour day weekend! I usually have a 3 day weekend but it's so nice when the Mister does as well so we can all hang out. Yesterday we took the boys on a hike to Lookout Mountain. I've hiked this  trail a few times and the view from the top never gets old.

Have I introduced Charlie? Charlie is our Wire Fox Terrier. The Mister got Charlie when he was a little puppy and I must say, him and Lyle are BFFs. Charlie loves to go hiking and he's a great motivator for Lyle to keep up.

What are you up to this weekend? Whatever it is, I hope it's relaxing.

A little confident.

It's been about 3 weeks since we've been on a hike so today we went to Red Rocks with our boys and did some trail running. I didn't get to take any pictures of the boys on the run but they were all pooped out, especially Lyle. He did really well and ran most of the trail.
He loves looking out the window
I feel that Lyle has been a lot more confident lately. When we first got into a car, he was too timid to look out the window and now he loves it! Lyle is 2 years old and I adopted him in January of this year. When I got him he was not house trained and did not have any obedience training at all. We've been taking him to the dog park a lot so he can socialize with other dogs (especially the bigger ones) and people. He's still a little weary of men and he barks at other dogs on our walk but I've been working on reactive training. He's such an amazing little guy and I am so happy that I have him in my life and that he has a forever home.
